If you still crash after a vanilla Story boot with no ASI stack, then repair the launcher and re-extract kiddions_mod_menu_v1.0.1_x64.zip. Do not download a second “fps fix” EXE from a mirror.

Does Kiddions support Vulkan?

Treat Vulkan and Enhanced as unconfirmed until the changelog says otherwise. DX11 is the documented path.

Should I disable MSI Afterburner?

If the overlay flickers, yes, as a test. Then re-enable one OSD at a time.

Prove a vanilla boot

If Story Mode hitchs with no overlay, fix the game first. If it hitchs only after fifty peds, that is density. If it flickers with Afterburner, that is OSD order. Reinstalling the ZIP last is the right order. Vulkan remains unconfirmed until the changelog says otherwise.
